The Peterson family homsteaded this farm on High Lake in 1866 and lived there for many years. The farmstead has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places which includes a restored farmhouse, barn, and various outbuildings. The Emmet County Conservation Foundation holds several annual celebrations at the farm. At other times, reservations are required for a guided tour of the house and farmstead.
